- Grease a microwave-safe bowl or mug and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add your dry ingredients and mix well. Add your almond butter syrup, and milk and mix until a smooth batter remains. If it is too thick, add a little extra milk. Fold in your chocolate chips.
- Transfer your mug cake batter into the greased mug and microwave for one minute.
- Allow the mug cake to sit for one minute, before enjoying!
Notes
Microwaves vary in power, so start with 50 seconds if you have a high-powered unit. Don't skip the resting time as it allows the cake to finish cooking gently and prevents rubbery texture. For variations, try adding cinnamon, espresso powder, or different mix-ins like mini marshmallows or peanut butter chips.
